SCANNING

Scanning

Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) is the use of electromagnetic waves to locate objects in concrete. As opposed to radiography (X-raying), which requires the use of harmful radiation, GPR is faster, safer, and requires access to only one side of the concrete structure.
At Rodeo Cutting & Coring Ltd. our highly trained operators use the Hilti PS100 X-Scan to detect objects in concrete. This GPR scanner offers unparalleled accuracy in identifying objects in multiple layers and also offers the additional benefit of being able to identity electrical signals so that the operator can make an informed decision as to whether objects in the concrete might be live electrical conduit.
GPR testing should be used in any application where the customer is concerned about cutting live conduit or damaging structural reinforcement such as rebar and/or stress cable.
The compact scanning system can be used virtually anywhere to quickly and accurately identify objects in concrete walls and floors. Our mobile computer station and printer also allow our operators to quickly print reports for use by the customer or an engineer. Our GPR scanning services can offer you peace of mind on your next project of any size.
